Featured in Domain Prestige, Kelly McCloskey is presented as a trusted feng shui expert for the luxury property market, helping explain why even high-end homes can feel unsettled and how better flow, balance and spatial harmony can influence both liveability and saleability.
I was interviewed for this piece to talk about the role feng shui can play in high-end homes, particularly when a property is beautifully built but still feels unresolved. A lot of people assume that luxury finishes alone are enough, but what I shared in the article is that flow matters deeply. When a home has awkward planning, blocked energy or a layout that creates friction, people often feel that immediately, even if they cannot explain why.
In the article, I explained that my work is about identifying those points of tension and helping a property function more harmoniously, both energetically and practically. I spoke about the kinds of features that can disrupt flow, things like zigzagging floor plans, problematic entries, bathrooms or storage in the centre of the home, sloping blocks and off-centre front doors, and why those details can affect not only how a home feels to live in, but also how it performs in the market. My view is not that a perfect house exists, but that a home can be strengthened by enhancing its positive qualities and neutralising its more challenging ones.
More broadly, the article positioned feng shui as something that works best when considered early, alongside architecture and design, rather than as an afterthought. That collaborative side of my work was an important part of the piece: the idea that flow, orientation and spatial experience are not separate from good design, but part of what makes a home truly compelling, supportive and memorable.
